- Crown Talisman -
(currently competing Preliminary Eventing and Level 4 Jumpers, with DPE since 2008)
Crown Talisman is known around the barn as Tali, Wacker, or Taliwacker. Generally Tali sticks. He is a TB/Holsteiner gelding 17.1hh born in 2003. Tali is owned by Doug and Larry and Amelia Ross of Oldwick, NJ. Tali came to DPE in the late fall of 2008. He was green broke at that point. He is a quirky, very smart and athletic horse. I've never known a horse to be as physically strong. He can contort his body and instantly stop like nothing I'd ever seen before.
We're in the process of updating this page to get some more pics/video. Below you'll find a few videos chronicling Tali's career.

- Shining North Star -
(currently competing Preliminary Eventing, with DPE since 2008)

Shining North Star, known around the barn as Simon is a 16.2hh Tb gelding born in 2004. He raced in California has made his journey to DPEquestrian in late May of 2008.
Simon is a very affectionate, kind and willing horse who is successfully making the transition from race horse to event horse. He had 7 starts in Ca. He was never quite fast enough. He is also the half brother of Olympic event horse Courageous Comet. Hopefully in a few short years Simon will follow in his footsteps.
Simon is owned by the Shining North Star Syndicate. There are ten shares, if you are interested in joining this exclusive group feel free to contact me at 908.399.9112 or by email. There are only a few slots remaining. Check below for ownership details.

Simon is currently competing at the preliminary level of eventing. He's exceptionally quick and responsive. He'd be the go-cart/dirt bike of the bunch. He's a very good jumper and should make it to Advanced without a doubt!

- Courage -
(Courage completed his first Grand Prix this fall, with DPE since 2008)

Courage is a 17.1hh Danish bred gelding born in 2002 owned by Sycamore Station LLC. He would be the powerhouse of the crew. I've never jumped a horse with more power in my life, and I have my doubts if I ever will again. Courage has true Olympic potential. He was broken late in life at 6. Soon after he came to DPE where he started his jumping career.

Lysander or 'Leo' is a 17.3hh Oldenburg/Tb gelding born in 2007 and owned jointly by Doug and Kristin Michaloski. We're very excited Leo's future. He's a tall lanky athletic type. Exceptionally balanced for his age and size. No telling what the future holds, but unfortunately he won't be out competing until the spring of 2011.

- Running Order -
(currently competing Advanced Eventing and Level 5-6 Jumpers, with DPE since 2007)

Running Order is known around the barn as Skinny, RO or Elvis. He is an Irish TB gelding standing 17.1hh born in 2002. He is owned by Patti Springsteen of Colts Neck, NJ.
He started as a steeplechase horse in Ireland. Actually he was a cross-country racing to be more specific. Enda Bolger a very well know jockey and now trainer started him. I was lucky enough to visit Enda last year after Fair Hill and got a first hand view of what its all about. So XC racing is more or less hunting at racing pace, and all the stories you hear about Irish hunting are true. We jumped banks, ditches, gates, walls, hedges and wire. Often times a combination of two or more of the above. I instantly understood where RO learned to be so quick on his feet. Darwin at work...he's still here and he's exceptionally good. There isn't a horse I'd rather be on when walking in that start box.
After his lack luster racing career ended, he made the trip over to the US to Patti's beautiful farm. He made a brief stop in jumping land. That too wasn't his cup of tea. Just over 2 years ago he arrived at my place. He's certainly found his niche.
Where do we go from here? Well in an ideal world Fair Hill this fall, maybe Rolex in through spring. Then London 2012?!? Just keep your fingers crossed...that's a long way away, but hardly out of the question!
